Smith Family, Patient TV Donation, 2022

A very generous donation of $50,000 was received from Peter Smith in honor of his wife, Sandy, to be used for the purchase of TVs for patient rooms in the Hospital.

 

Sandy (MacLeod) Smith was born in Baddeck Forks and moved to Halifax where she met Peter.  After years of living away they retired in Baddeck where Sandy began her 25 year battle with cancer ending in December of 2021.  Sandy will be remembered for her positive approach to life and humanitarian involvement while active on many health boards.  Due to her awareness of cancer, in her many positions as Director at The Lodge That Gives, and patient advisor on the NS Health Board, she was able to counsel and help others going through the same disease.  Sandy was also a generous supporter of our hospital and activities that went on around it.
